BasicNet Spa announced Monday that the European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the creation of a joint venture with private equity giant Permira.
The transaction mainly involves clothing and footwear retailing, with Permira joining K-Way, as announced in October.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns given the companies' limited market positions resulting from the proposed transaction.
BasicNet gives up 0.8 percent to EUR7.28 per share.
